National Business Engagement Practitioners Tackle Key Issues in Live Forum
Business U kicked off its national consortium for those currently using or interested in, B2B Engage™ - a vertical-specific technology platform that automates operational tasks to support workforce, education and economic development organizations in transformational relationship business engagement approaches, collaborative partnerships, outreach campaigns, and demand-side metrics reporting. Business engagement practitioners met in an online forum to discuss and tackle the topic of how business engagement can enhance supply side outcomes for job seekers and students.
Business U’s co-founders set the stage for the discussion by sharing the key elements for expanding reach to business and industry and how that correlates to supply side metrics, followed by online discussions and polls with participants sharing their perspectives from the field. More than 80 percent of participants defined “business engagement” as a partner in work-based learning opportunities and sector strategies. The top three challenges that participants identified to bringing business engagement to fruition included: Lack of Time (54%); No Contact Lists for New Business Outreach (53%); and No Outreach Tools (47%).
These are common issues that Business U encounters nationally when developing business engagement teams. Business Solutions Coordinator, Felicia Ainsa from the Capital Region Workforce Partnership in Henrico, Virginia discussed her regional business engagement team strategy in detail noting that one of the key barriers to partnership is not wanting to share business contacts among her partners.
Business U demonstrated the B2B Engage™ platform features that allow confidential views of contacts while providing an “Account LookUp” feature to see which partner has relationships with a company. This fosters collaboration among the partners and builds trust to make referrals to each other. Business U’s senior engineer demonstrated the Portfolio features of the platform and how easy it is to be inclusive with partners by uploading all of the services and engagement types for business and industry; this enhances credibility of the business engagement practitioner with the ability to solve immediate challenges for business customers.
The B2B Engage National Community of Practice meets formally once a month via a live webinar that tackles thought-provoking topics in business engagement coupled with hands-on training in using the B2B Engage™ platform to build transformational long-term business relationships.
The next Forum is on 2/16/15: Social CRM as a Strategy for Improving Business Engagement:
The blend of social media and Customer Relationship Management (Social CRM) provides an organization the listening power to build credibility. This webinar explores how to enhance traditional CRM by listening for and engaging with social media conversations, followed by how to use social media integration within B2B Engage™.
