Business U recently caught up with one of our customer-relationship management (CRM) users to talk about B2B Engage®, the only CRM on the market designed specifically for workforce and education organizations to address the multitude of operational tasks and relationship building activities needed for success. We interviewed Jenny Bolte who serves as the program administrator for the Pathways to the American Dream Grant and Marty Holliday, executive director for the River/Mount Rogers Workforce Development Board.
The focus of this $6 million grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) is to enhance workforce development capacity through an education and training system that adapts quickly to the changing needs of businesses. The four-year project covers four Workforce Areas: Southwest Virginia, New River/Mount Rogers, Western Virginia and West Piedmont, which includes 35 jurisdictions in various planning districts.
This regional project uses B2B Engage® to manage all activities among workforce system partners, businesses and jobseeker participants. The platform was customized to create automated reports using critical data elements, including DOL’s PIRL (Participant Individual Record Layout) data, to provide holistic services to customers.
According to Bolte, “Because B2B Engage® also reports on all grant expenditures tied directly to participants, grant management is much more efficient and the data is more reliable. This robust platform has enabled our organization to effectively manage our expansive projects. Business U’s responsiveness to our needs makes them a true technology partner that cares about our success.”
“Regional work is challenging and multi-faceted,” as Executive Director of the New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Development Board Marty Holliday says and further explains, “Doing regional work as a workforce board means that we are in the relationship business. It’s critical to the success of workforce boards that they have relationships with their customers (businesses and job seekers) and regional education and economic development partners that are based on trust and credibility.”
When asked about the CRM’s role in supporting regionally-focused work, Bolte said, “B2B Engage® is every program manager’s dream and the professional development the staff received from Business U was exactly what we needed to get our clients’ career pathway plan aligned with their goals!”
Holliday agrees, “Business U has given us the professional development and CRM technology tools we needed to strengthen relationships with our customers and partners. They are the best training and CRM organization I have ever worked with! Really.”
